My Name is.....
.....Michael Thomas.
Jeff Jarvis has posted in the past about people not using their names on their blogs and hiding behind a nickname.
Well, my nickname, Easycure, has been one I've used off and on for at least 20 years. It's not one of those cool names that somebody else gave me (like the name Frito, which people called me in elementary school), it's just one I gave myself, and here's why.
I have loved the band, The Cure, since 1984 when I heard the song The Hanging Garden on WRVU in Nashville. WRVU was the local Vanderbilt University radio station that played alternative and punk rock at the time. The Cure's first incarnation as a band was as Easy Cure, and they changed the name just before their first release in 1978.
Anyway, that's how I chose "Easycure" as a moniker for myself. It was also a chat name I started using in 1997, and I've used it online ever since.
So there you go. I'm not hiding behind it, that's just who I am.
You can call me Easycure. Or you can call me Michael.

Mia, you rock!
I've got the classic The Cure movie size poster for Boy's Don't Cry which is 39" x 54".
The poster cost $10.99. The custom gun metal black metal frame and non-glare glass cost $200+. It weighs a ton and is not hung up in the new house yet. There really isn't a place for it....how sad.
- Shelley - nice to meet you too.

I didn't recognize the reference... I guess I am not a true fan. :(
However I will have to send you a picture of my poster of envy. It's a 5' x 6' poster for their single Mint Car. Yeah, it pretty much rules the school. And takes up the whole wall. Rock. On.
