Liberal Hack Job

image  image

No liberal bias in the press, oh no.

Us publisher Jann Wenner is a prominent Obama donor and also happens to publish Rolling Stone.

Smearing a mother of five, because she has a pregnant teenage daughter, is beyond reproach.  It's sick, and your derangement of Bush and now Palin is even more sick.

It's also why you lose elections.

Hit tip to MM.

I think the point they were trying to get across is that Those that live in Glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

The Republicans Like to say how corrupt and lacking of MORALS the DEMS are but we really the same.

The Republicans are supposed to be for SMALL GOVERNMENT.

Yeah - this one's gonna have to get its own post. My responses to StB are gonna be silly in comments.

Troopegate takes the reform card off the table??? That is laughable. Sure, let's put aside her ousting her own corrupt party members. No big thing there. How she didn't get pushed around by "big oil".

The experience card is gone because of Obama's experience doing what? Leading a city? Leading a state? It must bother you that Palin has more experience that Obama. That she has accomplished more than Obama. That she has taken on bigger challenges than Obama. Refute that.

See this pick is so much better than Biden that everyone feels the need ot bash it to bits.

As writers you should be concerned about Obama's attacks on free speech. But that isn't the cool thing yet so ignore it.

I just think she's a bad choice overall. This bit takes the "moral superiority" card off the table. The TrooperGate BS takes the "reform politician" card off the table. And her two years experience running Alaska takes the "my opponent has no experience" card off the table. She may be a very nice person, but politically she takes away valuable ammo from the McCampaign.

I don't doubt that she's a fine person and a good mom, even though her stand on abstinence-only education seems a little retarded now. But she was not the right call for the McCampaign. They would have been better off with any of several more visible, more viable female candidates.

Bill O'Reilly, 12/20/07: "On the pinhead front, 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant. The sister of Britney says she is shocked. I bet.

Now most teens are pinheads in some ways. But here the blame falls primarily on the parents of the girl, who obviously have little control over her."

I love what you've done with the place, EZ, but you should maybe move the pile of rocks a little further from the exterior of the plate-glass structure.

Accusing a woman of being a failure as a parent because her unwed teenage daughter got pregnant would only be acceptable if she or her party promoted themselves as having "higher family values" than those of another party.

See what I did there?

Palin brought the family issue to the forefront by proclaiming herself a "hockey mom" the first time she stepped on the national stage.

If Palin was so vetted, why in the hell are there 10+ operatives from the McCain campaign in Alaska right now hoping to God they don't find anything else out about her that could be negative?

John McCain made a knee-jerk decision thinking that he would play to the Hillary supporters, and it didn't work. Bringing a woman on the ticket for being a woman isn't what HRC supporters wanted. They wanted a strong, experienced, tough woman who could actually lead.

I don't know about you, but I shudder to think about Palin having here finger on the button if McCain were to croak.

Also, the media bias works both ways. Obama may be a "celebrity", but you rarely hear about all of the gaffes that McCain has made along the campaign trail in the main stream media, and there have been a bunch.

Love,

Bloody P

I don't think it is fair to "smear" Palin based on her daughter being preggers.

I do think its fair to shine the bright light of irony on the personal failure her family has endured in spite of the copious amounts of federal, state, religious and family sponsored abstinence training to which Bristol has no doubt been subjected.

If her daughter had been given access to a condom and perhaps *gasp* the pill or an IUD she wouldn't be 17, unmarried, prego and an unintentional national political hot button topic.

Teenagers are gonna screw. No matter how many days a week you go to church or how elegantly the "I Can Wait" certificate has been signed and framed.

Is US really the "Media"?
