Here is a bit of friendly advice for ya’ll that I received through email.

 

If you are in the South and you hear:

 

'You ain't from round here, are ya?' – you are being judged, and it’s OK. You’ll get it a lot.

 

'He needed killin.' – you are witnessing a valid defense, and it’s legal. Keep clear of this woman.

'Hey, y'all watch this!'  - you should stay out of the way. These are likely to be the last words that particular fella will ever say. Think YouTube.

Shock and Awe

From the You Can't Make This Up Dept.^TM:

The Chicago Sun-Times reports...

Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's brother solicited U.S. Sen. Roland Burris for up to $10,000 in campaign cash before Blagojevich named Burris to the coveted post -- something Burris initially failed to disclose under oath before an Illinois House impeachment panel, records and interviews show.

Is anyone surprised?

Burris' statement offers the third version of events he has given about his discussions concerning the Senate seat, to which Blagojevich appointed him in late December, after Blagojevich was hit with federal corruption charges that included an allegation he tried to sell the Senate appointment.

In politics, Democrats have to keep changing the story until you come up with a version that everyone the press can live with.

This little situation could get a ugly for Burris. He could get his corrupt ass kicked out of Congress just like Dodd, Rangel, Murtha and Stevens. Oh wait, he's Democrat, he'll get a free pass from the press. In fact, it's probably the last we'll hear of it.

The Worst Bill Ever Passed

Democrats for years have been bitching and moaning about the Patriot Act, and Patriot Act II.  Supposedly, the Patriot Act "shredded the Constitution" and made the country barely livable for some of the people on the far left.  The Patriot Act is nothing compared to this "stimulus" bill that is being shoved on the American taxpayers, both current and future.

The 1100 pages of the bill were not made public until 11PM last night, February 12th.  The bill was passed later today, the 13th, at about 4PM.  There is no way that the members of the House who voted for this boondoggle, all of them Democrats, could have read this whole bill.

The worst part is, the public, didn't get to read this bill.  The House unanimously voted just last week to let the bill sit for 48 hours so everyone could get a look at it.  That didn't happen.

Obama has promised that all bills will be available to the public 5 days after Congressional passage before he signs it into law.

You can bet that's not going to happen.

So what are we left with? Huge spending that many economists say will do nothing.

You gotta love Socialism.

C'mon Weather!

Supposed to go on a little Valentine's getaway trip later tonight and the weather is not cooperating.

Cancelling a romantic trip because of the weather seems stupid.

Easycure's Stimulus Plan

"For Homeowners: To relieve homeowners, in the month of their birthday, may skip that payment with no penalty by the mortgage company.  The mortgage company agrees to extend the loan one additional month with no further penalty, but may add interest."

This has to be a better solution than the millions of foreclosures that will come over the next 6 months.

I will add to this later as I chew on it.

BTW, this is my idea. If somebody else thought of it before me, they can suck it.

Hard to Argue With That

Hey, but it's only been two weeks.

At the dawn of the Obama Administration we have witnessed: four high-level appointees blow up over various issues, tax and otherwise (Richardson, Daschel, and Killefer get axed; Geitner stays); the appointment of at least 12 lobbyists to positions in the Administration -- in direct contradiction of campaign promises; a pork-laden economic stimulus bill without precedent in US history; and the reversal of campaign positions concerning controversial policies like rendition.

The first couple of weeks of the Obama Administration has simply reinforced my stated belief that the Obama campaign and subsequent election represents the biggest, most successful political con of my lifetime.

If it's a con, we're in deep doo-doo.
